MAINE HOME SALES UP 62.95% IN APRIL
According to the Maine Real Estate Information System, Inc. (MREIS), Realtors® sold 994 homes in April and the statewide median sales price rose 3.41% to $165,450 from april 2009. The Home-buyer tax credit which ended April 30 contributed to the significant rise in sales. Penobscot county saw a 28.43% increase, Waldo county was up 23.53%, Hancock and Washington counties were up 50%. This was a big boost to the housing market in Maine and we continue to see increases with the interest rates at historic lows. I'm looking forward to a continued strong spring/summer selling season!
